What is IAPTC
The International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) is a global network that fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange among peacekeeping training institutions.

CIPS
Center for Internal Peace and Stability (CIPS) located inside the National University of Science & Technology (NUST) at H-12 Sector, Islamabad. CIPS was established on 1st March, 2013, and officially inaugurated by United Nations Secretary General (UNSG) Ban Ki-moon on 13th August, 2013. It is a unique institution; one of its kind, established with the purpose of conducting training and research in all matters related to UN Peacekeeping Operations, peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

President IAPTC

Brigadier Joyce C Sitienei took over presidency of IAPTC in November 2023. She is an education officer in the Kenya Defence Forces. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Kenyatta University, master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Nairobi and a Post graduate Diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies from the Africa Nazarene University. She was appointed Director of the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) on 23 July 2021.

About IAPTC

The International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) is a global network that fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange among peacekeeping training institutions. Established to enhance the effectiveness of peace operations, the IAPTC provides a platform for sharing best practices, training methodologies, and research. It facilitates dialogue between military, police, and civilian peacekeepers, aiming to standardize and improve training programs worldwide. Through its annual conferences and workshops, the IAPTC supports the continuous professional development of peacekeepers, contributing to more effective and cohesive international peacekeeping efforts.

Center for International Peace and Stability

All sessions of the Annual Conference as well as the side events scheduled will take place at the Center for Internal Peace and Stability (CIPS) located inside the National University of Science & Technology (NUST) at H-12 Sector, Islamabad. CIPS was established on 1st March, 2013, and officially inaugurated by United Nations Secretary General (UNSG) Ban Ki-moon on 13th August, 2013. It is a unique institution; one of its kind, established with the purpose of conducting training and research in all matters related to UN Peacekeeping Operations, peacebuilding and conflict resolution. CIPS functions on a hybrid model, performing as a nonpartisan think-tank cum academic institution. It is affiliated with the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (NIPCONS) at Islamabad. CIPS houses three departments which are currently working to meaningfully contribute to the academia and research; Peacekeeping Training Department, Research and Analysis Cell and the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies.
